HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA – Idris Elba can soon be the one to say in a 007-action-movie the iconic phrase: “My name is Bond, #JamesBond.”
Idrissa Akuna Elba better known as Idris Elba, is a British actor, producer, musician, and DJ born in London, England.
Elba appeared as Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). He has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, winning one, and was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.
In 2016, he was named in the Time 100 list of the Most Influential People in the World.
While Idris Elba has been buzzing in the mouth of fans to replace Daniel Craig once he retires as the Agent 007, the James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli may be open to cast Idris Elba in the future.
Craig is set to play James Bond 007 at least one more time in Bond 25, which will begin production later this year under the direction of Danny Boyle.
It’s been mentioned numerous times that it’s time for there to be either a person of color or a female Bond in the future, perhaps after Craig’s term is finished.
The Hollywood-culture is slowly but surely changing and adapting to non-accustomed leads, this makes why the idea of someone like Elba taking on the role is possibly being considered.
The producers leading on the topic mentioned: “Idris could do it if he was in shape. You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that.”
Elba’s response is often that no one is really considering him for the role, and in fact he thinks the next Bond should be a woman.

Rumor has it indeed still, but with the frenzy this news created – one truly hopes it turns into fruition. Idris Elba is some of the few great British actors we’ve met in real life, and what we can assure you is that he is real and very down to earth.
When he was in Curaçao for vacation, he mixed with the culture and the people was someone everyone had the opportunity to meet up with and have a drink.Let him be the first Bond with the spark of this gem in his genes. Go Idris, Bond.. James Bond!
