GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS –
Just like everyone around the world, we all have been shocked by the tragic death of Dr. Myles Munroe and companions, his legacy will live on forever through generations – but he is giving us the moment to elaborate on our true purpose in life, our process and life plan.
The news broke that Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Mrs. Ruth Ann were among nine passengers who died in a plane crash as their flight headed into the Grand Bahama Airport. They leave behind two children, daughter, Charisa and son, Chairo (Myles Jr.) Munroe.
Munroe, is the founder, president, and Senior Pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International, an all-encompassing network of ministries headquartered in Nassau, Bahamas and the Myles Munroe International. He is multi-gifted international motivational speaker whom we have also had the privilege to welcome in Curaçao, he is a best selling author and business consultant addressing critical issues affecting every aspect of human, social and spiritual development.
The crash occurred as people were gathering in Grand Bahama for Dr. Munroe’s 2014 Global Leadership Forum which started today, November, 10.
Iconic local lady personality Mrs. Josephine Bakhuis is also currently in Bahamas as a forum facilitator, her daughter and friend Shelomi Baromeo – Bakhuis is also attending the forum that has been shaken by the latest development. Former mayor of Atlanta and former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew Young is scheduled to speak at the popular leadership forum, released the following statement through his foundation: “Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash.”
Dr. Myles Munroe, once preached that “the value of life is not in its duration, but in its donation.”
Known for his work and teachings on leadership, purpose and maximizing your potential, vision, individual and national transformation, Rev. Myles Munroe had a vibrant ministry that encouraged and touched many in ways that won’t soon be forgotten and a search through some of his work proves that he was a man who practiced what he preached in living a purposeful life. Already, many preachers and ministry leaders have taken to social media to share how much Munroe’s ministry meant to them, here are just a few of our favorite quotes from him.
“The value of life is not in its duration, but in its donation. You are not important because of how long you live, you are important because of how effective you live. And most people are concerned about growing old rather than being effective,” Munroe said.
“The people who have impacted the world didn’t live long. Martin Luther King. John F. Kennedy. These people who impact the world were not old people, but they lived so effectively that we cannot erase them from history,” he said.
“You weren’t born just to live a life and to die, you were born to accomplish something specifically. Matter of fact, success is making it to the end of your purpose, that is success. … Success is not just existing, success is making it to the end of why you were born.”
“The poorest person in the world is the person without a dream.” – Dr. Myles Munroe
“Communication is the ability to ensure that people understand not only what you say but also what you mean. It is also the ability to listen to and understand others. Developing both of these aspects of communication takes a lot of time, patience, and hard work.”
“People generally fall into one of three groups: the few who make things happen, the many who watch things happen, and the overwhelming majority who have no notion of what happens. Every person is either a creator of fact or a creature of circumstance. He either puts color into his environment, or, like a chameleon, takes color from his environment.”
“You must decide if you are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you.”
“Purpose is when you know and understand what you were born to accomplish. Vision is when you see it in your mind and begin to imagine it”
We extend our condolences to the Munroe’s family, the Pinder’s, Diego’s family, the Pilot’s family Thornson and his co-pilot and the Lavard’s family in these time of challenge and change – enlightenment and wisdom to friends, ministry partners, loved ones, the Bahamas and to all those affected by this tragic situation.
One of the most significant ways Dr. Munroe will live on is through the books he wrote and co-authored. The Kingdom is rejoicing your great entrance Dr. Myles, alongside with all the beautiful souls that left physically earth to embark the Infinite journey of their purpose.
